My Reason Why…

Thursday 3rd Jul
I’m running the London Marathon 2026 🇬🇧🏃🏼💨

Not only is this a personal challenge, but as a tribute to one of the strongest and most inspiring people I’ve ever known: my nan.

My nan passed away in January 2025 after a long and courageous battle with respiratory complications. She spent months in hospital, fighting, and even in her most difficult moments, she showed a strength and resilience that continues to inspire me every day.

Throughout her life, my nan faced more than her fair share of health challenges. She had asthma, endured pneumonia, had two strokes, battled heart problems and lived with a pacemaker. But she never let any of it define her. She was a fighter and the heart of our family.

This marathon is for her. And it’s for Asthma & Lung UK, a charity that meant a great deal to my nan. She supported and donated to them during her life, believing in their mission to help people living with lung conditions and to fund vital research into respiratory health. Now, I’m continuing that support in her memory.

Training for a marathon is no small feat, but every mile I run is for her. For the nights she spent in hospital. For the strength she showed every day. For the hope that, one day, fewer families will have to go through what ours did.

If you’re able to support me on this journey—whether by donating, sharing my story, or simply cheering me on—I’d be incredibly grateful.

Thank you for reading, and thank you for helping honour my nan.

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. I'm running the London Marathon 2026 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!
