26.2 Miles: Celebrating What’s Possible
For 30 years, I didn't know what it felt like to breathe at full capacity. Since finally getting my asthma diagnosed and under control in 2019, the ceiling on what I can achieve physically has completely shifted. What used to be a struggle is now a lifestyle of lifting and distance running.
As I approach my 40th birthday, I’m not just looking to "finish" the 2026 London Marathon—I’m running it to celebrate the fact that I am stronger, more disciplined, and more capable now than I ever was in my 20s. This race is a 26.2-mile validation of what happens when you have the right tools to manage your health.
Why I’m Fundraising
I’m raising money for Asthma + Lung UK because I want others to have the same "aha" moment I did. No one should be held back from an active life because of a treatable lung condition. This charity is the only one in the UK fighting for everyone’s right to breathe.
Your support makes a tangible difference:
Support for others: Just £22 allows a specialist nurse to answer a call on their Helpline, offering advice that can change someone's trajectory.
Research & Advocacy: Every donation brings us closer to a world where lung health isn't a barrier to ambition.
I’m currently in the thick of an 18-week training program, putting in the miles on the Cape Cod Rail Trail and in the gym. Thank you for helping me support this cause and celebrating this milestone with me.
My Updates
Cold Weather Training
Thursday 1st Jan
I took this photo in late-December on a cold, rainy morning on the Cape Cod Rail Trail. It was week two of my 18-week marathon training program.
While I managed to drag myself across the finish line for three half-marathons, a full marathon always felt out of reach despite being a bucket list item. As I stare down the barrel of turning 40, I decided it’s now or never.
In addition to being a personal milestone, this race is a great opportunity to fundraise for a charity that means a lot to me. @asthmaandlunkuk helps a lot of people suffering from lung diseases.
I spent the first 30 years of my life with undiagnosed asthma. Since getting it under control, the ability to train for endurance sports has changed my life. I’m fundraising so others can get that same diagnosis and support.
