I’m running The Great North Run in the fight for breath!
In early 2024, my mum was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit, where she received incredible care from the doctors and nurses who looked after her. Thankfully, she recovered and was able to return home, but her journey didn’t end there. She has needed a great deal of support ever since, and seeing first-hand the impact that lung conditions can have on someone you love has changed my perspective completely.
I decided to take on the London Marathon in 2025 for Asthma + Lung UK. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, but also one of the most rewarding. Thanks to the incredible generosity of family, friends, colleagues and everyone who supported me, I managed to raise an amazing £2,500 for the charity.
I’m not quite sure I’ve learned my lesson yet… because now I’m doing it again!
In 2027, I’ll be taking on the Great North Run, once again raising money for Asthma + Lung UK and supporting the incredible work they do for people living with lung conditions.
Having seen personally how important that support can be, this is a cause that means a huge amount to me and my family. Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help support the charity’s work and give me a little more motivation when those training runs start to hurt!
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story and, if you’re able to, for supporting me on this challenge.
