I’m running the London Marathon 2026 for my dad.
I had a whole description written here when I got selected to run the marathon about how asthma affected me and what it means to be asthmatic.
Unfortunately just before Christmas, I lost my dad to pneumonia. He fought hard, the hardest he possibly could have. In some of the last conversations with him, we spoke about my running and I said I wasn’t sure if I wanted to keep running. In those moments he told me “well, you’ll have to run it for me then”. The smirk after assured me that he knew he got me good. He knew I can’t turn down a challenge, and knew he’d given me the motivation I needed.
So this year is for you dad. My inspiration throughout my entire life. I miss you every day.
