I’m running the London Marathon 2026 in memory of my grandad and to fight for lung health
In April 2024, my family lost the most loving person any of us knew. He was the most selfless man who would do absolutely anything for anyone. I am the luckiest granddaughter to have had him as I grew up, but that time was cut short when we lost him to Cardiovascular Disease and COPD (Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease).
My grandad suffered 25 years of his life with COPD, but in align with his character, he never complained and never let it change the way he lived his life. He brightened up every room he walked in with his warm presence and his smile was enough to make anyones day better. Throughout my life, he never failed to show his support, from sports fixtures to helping 6 year old me with maths homework, grandad would be there. His compassion and love has had an everlasting impact on my family, and I will continue to return the support and dedication he gave to me.
He always strived to make the world a better place however he could and it means the world to me knowing I am doing my part as he would've encouraged me to do♥️
COPD is a leading cause of death globally, with 3.5 million losing their lives each year. Although there is no cure, raising money and awareness results in revolutionary ways to diagnose, prevent and treat lung conditions like COPD (among others).
Every donation makes a difference- thank you! ♥️
See you at Mile 17 Eliza with grandad rooting for you as he always did ❤️🫶🏽
