Great North Run 2027

I am running The Great North Run 2027 for my dad!

In September 2027, I will be taking part in the great north run for someone incredibly important to me - my dad.

This run means so much more to me than simply crossing a finish line. Last year my dad was diagnosed with severe pulmonary hypertension after suffering from a pulmonary embolism, which was an incredibly scary experience for our entire family. Pulmonary hypertension is a rare condition , Yet to of found a cure, that affects blood vessels between the heart and lungs, making the heart work harder to pump blood through the lungs. For my dad living with severe pulmonary hypertension has meant facing various unexpected challenges on top of his already jam packed every day life. Watching someone you love go through this is extremely difficult and highlights the importance of not taking the little things for granted.

My dad has always been my biggest fan  , best friend and my biggest inspiration in life .This disease has made me realised how much strength, resilience, determination, courage and sheer will - power my dad has.

I’m fundraising for Asthma + Lung UK supporting their work for people affected by lung conditions and helping fund research, support and creating a better understanding of conditions like pulmonary hypertension. If you are able to donate, no matter how much , it would mean so much to me and my family. Every donation will help support asthma and lung UK and the work they do for people living with lung conditions. And if you can’t donate, sharing this page and supporting me throughout the journey would mean just as much. 💜
