I’m running the London Marathon 2026 to fight for lung health!
I’ve always been a huge fan of the London Marathon, and have especially loved cheering people on. I’ve finally built up the courage to go for it and put myself forward. Supporting Asthma + Lung UK a charity that is so important to me and my family is a huge incentive. I was diagnosed with asthma at just two years old. I was rushed to the doctors where I was put on a nebuliser. Sadly I also know the devastation lung disease can cause when my nan sadly died aged just 57 from emphysema, I was just 6. I have never let my asthma hold me back where sport is concerned and am excited to run the marathon and prove it.
Just a few statics Asthma + Lung are striving to improve through research, helplines, funding, education and awareness;
Lung conditions are the third biggest killer in the UK.
Lung Conditions receive only 2% of public health research funding.
2/3 Asthma deaths could be prevented with better routine care.
£14 could fund an hour of research, giving hope to those who struggle to breathe.
£22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice.
