I’m running the London Marathon 2026 to fight for lung health!
I’m Jackson, and I’m really proud to say I’ll be running the London Marathon 2026 as part of the Asthma + Lung UK team. I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share a bit of my story.
I’ve lived with severe asthma since I was a child. I spent many Christmases in hospital and have been using daily inhalers since I was seven years old. Asthma has always been a huge part of my life it’s something I’ve had to manage every day, but I’ve never let it define me.
A few years ago, I started running to help manage my asthma, and it’s genuinely changed my life. Running has improved my breathing, boosted my confidence, and given me back control of my health in ways I never thought possible.
Last year, I faced one of my biggest setbacks. I woke up one morning with fluid in my lungs from a severe asthma flare-up. It completely knocked me back I couldn’t run, I couldn’t train, I couldn’t do much except cough and recover. But that experience didn’t defeat me it actually pushed me to come back stronger and take on something I never thought I would: the London Marathon.
I’m running to raise awareness, to support Asthma + Lung UK, and to prove that even with chronic lung conditions, we can still achieve incredible things. I know there will be challenges along the way, but I’m determined to give this everything I’ve got.
Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. Asthma + Lung UK is the only UK charity fighting for everyone’s right to breathe, and every pound I raise will help bring us closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.
Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK’s nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I would be truly grateful for any donations you can make to support this cause and my journey.

Update:
Last night I completed my second 5K without stopping did it in 31mins 🏃♂️💨 Honestly, it still feels surreal to even write that. The route I chose wasn’t exactly kind either — over 165ft of elevation and full of tough hills that really tested me. There were a few moments where my legs were burning and my lungs were working overtime, but I just kept reminding myself why I’m doing this.
Running for asthma and lung health has become so much more than just training for a marathon — it’s personal. Every step I take is a reminder of how far I’ve come from all those hospital stays and nights struggling to breathe. There was a time when even short walks would leave me gasping, and now I’m out here running hilly 5Ks nonstop. That’s a win in itself.
This run reminded me that progress isn’t always easy or comfortable — but it’s worth it. I’m proud of this one, and it’s another big step toward the London Marathon. 💙
