I’m running the London Marathon 2027 to fight for lung health!
After more than a decade of entering the ballot, I am incredibly proud to say that I will finally be running the London Marathon in 2027 in support of Asthma + Lung UK.
This challenge is about much more than running 26.2 miles.
Like many families, mine has been affected by serious lung conditions. My Grandad was diagnosed with lung cancer and, against the odds, went on to beat it. Because of that, we were given something priceless – years of memories, family gatherings, laughter, and moments we otherwise would never have had.
My family has also experienced the wider impact that lung and respiratory conditions can have on the people we love.
That is why this cause means so much to me.
Over the next year I will be training for the biggest physical challenge of my life while raising funds to help support the research, care, advice, and support provided by Asthma + Lung UK.
Just £24 can support a researcher at the start of their career to carry out an hour of lung health research to ensure we attract and keep the best scientific minds to focus on lung disease.
Any support would be amazing in my fight for lung health!
My Updates
Week 4 ✅
Sunday 16th Aug
Another great week of progress! This week I continued with my 4 minutes running / 1 minute walking intervals, and today I crossed the 40-minute mark, covering 7.27km!
And somehow, I managed another six new PBs! 🤯
🏆 5K – 27:09
🏆 2 miles – 17:10
🏆 1 mile – 8:10
🏆 1K – 5:05
🏆 ½ mile – 3:47
🏆 400m – 1:52
My first ever 5K was 31:09 just a few weeks ago, so to get 27:09 (a 4-minute improvement) today is amazing, especially when chasing speed isn’t the priority right now.
It was still 19°C with around 82% humidity, so by the final interval I was definitely ready for it to be over! 😂 But I’m really proud to have completed my longest run yet.
Thank you to everyone supporting me along the way! 💙
Week 3 ✅
Sunday 9th Aug
🏃♂️ Week 3 of marathon training complete! 🎉
Another great week of training, and I’m really starting to see the progress! I’ve moved up to 4 minutes running / 1 minute walking intervals this week, and today I managed 6.1km despite having a pretty awful night’s sleep.
But the unexpected highlight? Six new PBs! 🤯
🏆 5K – 28:19
🏆 2 miles – 18:03
🏆 1 mile – 8:47
🏆 1K – 5:35
🏆 ½ mile – 4:15
🏆 400m – 2:01
That 28:19 5K is quite exciting, especially shaving 2 minutes 50 seconds off from last weeks 5k. I wasn’t expecting to get a new personal best - especially with the lack of sleep!
The goal remains the same though: build the mileage, build the endurance and get myself ready for London Marathon 2027.

Week 2 ✅
Sunday 2nd Aug
This morning was another training run… and something unexpected happened.
I wasn’t trying to hit any targets or chase a personal best. The goal was simply to stick to my plan, keep my pace comfortable and trust the process.
When I finished my 8 x 3:1 run:walk intervals, I looked at Strava and realised I’d accidentally run my first 5K of this training block.
5K – 31:09
Just a couple of weeks ago, 5K felt like a big milestone. Today it happened naturally, without pushing.
Every run is one step closer to the London Marathon finish line on 25 April 2027.
Thank you to everyone supporting this journey and helping me raise money for Asthma + Lung UK.
