Running in Memory: My London Marathon Journey 2026 for Asthma + Lung UK
Monday 14th JulI can’t believe I am writing this, but I am hopefully going to be running the 2026 London Marathon and I’m asking for your support with raising the funds to get me there! I am grateful to say that I am going to be running for Asthma + Lung UK, for a reason that I know is deeply personal to a lot of us.
We lost our amazing Seward when he was just 21. The impact it had on all of us is something I’ll never forget, and it’s why I’m so passionate about supporting Asthma + Lung UK. Breathing is something we often take for granted, but for millions, it's a daily struggle.
I would like to talk a bit about our brightest star in the sky and my mascot for this journey, Seward. Anyone who was lucky enough to have met Seward would I am sure agree that he was truly one of a kind. His infectious smile and laughter followed him wherever he went. Seward had so much love and fun to bring to everyone’s lives and he would always be there when you needed him, no matter what. The man was also born to be a performer! His singing, dancing, (and sassy facial expressions) brought so much laughter and fun to all our lives, and I know it’s something that we all miss. I just wish he got more time, and that more people got to experience Seward in their life because he truly was the most beautiful soul and ray of sunshine, that kept things bright. He was my angel then and is my guardian angel now. Seward, you will always and forever be my best pal. I love and miss you always, and I know you will be there cheering me on🤍
Asthma and lung conditions affect so many, and Asthma + Lung UK’s work in research, support, and advocacy is crucial. I want to contribute to their mission in Seward's memory.
So, I am going to be running for every breath, and I’m running for you Seward. I’m asking for your support to help me reach my fundraising goal. Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. I'm running the London Marathon 2026 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.
Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice.
