London Marathon 2026

I’m running the London Marathon 2026 to fight for lung health!

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. I'm running the London Marathon 2026 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!

London Marathon 2026!!

Wednesday 22nd Oct
I have challenged myself to take part in the upcoming marathon next year, and am proud to be running for Asthma and Lung UK as it is a cause that's deeply personal to me: raising awareness for Asthma and Lung health UK. The decision to run this marathon goes beyond the finish line; it’s about supporting others who face similar challenges and shining a light on an often misunderstood condition.

Did you know that approximately 5.4 million people in the UK are currently diagnosed with asthma? That's around 1 in 12 adults and 1 in 11 children! Despite being a common place condition, many people don’t understand the complexities behind it. Not all asthma is the same, and it can affect individuals in various ways, from mild reactions to severe attacks that can land someone in the hospital.

Just last November, I found myself on the receiving end of this condition's more serious side. After a harrowing hospital admission, I received my diagnosis, and I am still navigating what it means to live with asthma daily. This experience has left its mark on me to this day and has made me want to  advocate for lung health and educate others on what asthma truly entails as it is more than just carrying an inhaler.

One of the less discussed aspects of asthma is the anxiety that often accompanies it. The fear of an attack—when breathing becomes a struggle—can be daunting. For many, this anxiety can be as debilitating as the condition itself. With my journey, I have come to realize that understanding asthma not only involves knowledge of triggers and medications but also recognizing the mental hurdles that come with it.

This marathon symbolizes resilience. By sharing my experience, I aspire to reassure others that they’re not alone in their struggles and to spread awareness to others with the charity.

Training for a marathon is no small feat, but I am determined to push my limits.

The marathon is an excellent opportunity to spread awareness about asthma and lung health, not just through my involvement, but by partnering with Asthma and Lung Health UK. Together, we can elevate the conversation surrounding this condition. Events like this foster a community of support and strengthen efforts to advocate for better research, education, and resources for those affected by asthma.

In the end, running this marathon is about more than just crossing the finish line. It’s about breathing easier, understanding more, and advocating for a cause that needs our attention.

I am ready to take on this journey for asthma awareness, and document every step of the way! Together, we can provide support, and foster a deeper understanding of asthma and lung health in the UK.
