🏃♀️ I'm Running the London Marathon 2026 for Asthma + Lung UK — In Memory of My Dad and Uncle 💙
Hi everyone,
In April 2026, I’ll be taking on the challenge of a lifetime to become part of the 1% club and running the London Marathon. That’s 26.2 miles of sweat, grit, and determination. But I’m not just doing this for the finish line or the medal. I’m running in honour of two incredible people who are no longer with us — my dad and my uncle.
Why Asthma + Lung UK?
As many of you may know, my dad passed away on 16th Feb 2018 when he was only 51 from a rare lung condition called Lymphoid Interstitial Pneumonia (LIP). Watching someone you love slowly lose the ability to breathe - something so simple and essential that we all tend to take for granted - was heartbreaking.
On 14th Feb 2025, we had to say goodbye to my Uncle Vic, someone who had battled withChronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) for many years. Another painful reminder of how cruel and unforgiving lung disease can be.
Both of them were strong, kind, and full of life. Their absence has left a huge hole in our family. Running this marathon is my way of keeping their memory alive - and fighting for a future where fewer families have to go through what we did.
What Your Support Means
By donating to Asthma + Lung UK, you’re helping to:
- Fund life-saving research into lung diseases like LIP, COPD, and asthma
- Provide critical support for people struggling to breathe
- Campaign for cleaner air, better treatment, and earlier diagnoses
Every mile I run, every blister I earn, and every early morning I drag myself out of bed - it’s all for them. And for the millions of others in the UK living with lung conditions.
How You Can Help
If you’re able to, please consider supporting my marathon journey. No donation is too small. Even sharing my fundraising page makes a difference.
🫁 Together, we can fight for lungs. We can honour the people we’ve lost. And we can give others a better chance.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, donating, and cheering me on.
With love and gratitude,
Just to start you off, very proud of you for this❤️xx
