I’m running the London Marathon 2026 for my Dad and also to try and take revenge on a course which literally melted me in 2018!
Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. I'm running the London Marathon 2026 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe.
My Dad was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis in 2022 and gradually over the last three years we witnessed this horrible disease that we knew nothing about slowly rob him of the ability to breathe. Sadly on 11th September 2025, Dad passed away. As the disease had progressed he had to accept that he could do less and less, even the most basic tasks. In the last few months of the disease in particular this was aggressive and difficult to see. During the final stages of the disease he needed carers in the home and constant oxygen, just to do something as simple as watching the TV. To see your Dad, the man who taught you how to swim, did countless uni car runs for you and enjoyed travelling with you to Vegas, Buenos Aires and Paris reduced to not being able to do a single thing for himself was heartbreaking. He didn’t deserve it. There is no reason why he should have had this disease. It was out of the blue. I feel anger that having lost my Mum to a cruel disease five years ago I, and my children, have now lost my Dad to another one.
So now to channel that anger into something positive. This is why I want to raise money for this great charity so they can continue the fight for a cure for diseases like this one and to help support families and friends of those affected. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs. Please donate whatever you are able to and I would be very grateful for anything, no matter how small.
Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice.
Thank you for taking the time to read my page and I hope you are able to support the cause.

On his 80th birthday this is what Mick would have wanted to do. We’re all so proud of you xxx

I’m so proud of you for doing this dad. You’re so strong. Losing grandad was really hard for all of us and you were so strong and you supported all of us and made sure we were all okay while you were grieving the loss of your dad. I miss grandad so much but I know that he’s not in pain anymore and he’s with grandma again. I’m so excited to cheer you on and I know grandad will be cheering alongside me. I’m so lucky to have a dad like you. Love you xxx
