London Marathon 2025

I’m running the London Marathon 2025 to fight for lung health!

I don't think any of us generally consider our ability to breathe. I never really did, until I saw what Dad went through in his final days and moments. It's a function I think we all take for granted, until the day we can't do it. Witnessing him struggle and fight for his last breath is an experience that will stay with me forever.

I've always been active, of course, but it's made me even more acutely aware of how important it is to look after our cardiovascular health - and our health in general. Without it, we have nothing.

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference, and I want to cherish Dad's memory by bringing his unrelenting optimism (and humour!) to the London Marathon 2025.

I'm running it for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice.

Help me get over the finish line knowing that I've done Dad proud.

Thank you!

My Updates

Huge thanks!

Thursday 26th Dec
Firstly, seasons greetings to everyone; I hope you're all enjoying the festive period and taking time to relax and see loved ones.

I wanted to hop on here and say a huge thanks to all of you for your donations and lovely messages. I've loved reading them over the past few months; it really has meant a lot.

Training is going well. My training plan was 26 weeks long, which I started in October, to make sure I left some contingency time in case I needed it for whatever reason. I've been sticking to the programme and once we're in January, the countdown starts in earnest!

But it's is about so much more than the physical challenge. It's about doing something positive in dad's memory and also  raising funds to help others in a similar situation. And honestly reading your messages of support makes a huge difference, so I just wanted you all to know how much I appreciate them.

And at some time between now and New Year, please raise a festive glass to John May - just as he would have wanted! :)

I'll post another update in a month or two.
Sending love to you all!
