We are running the London Marathon 2026 to fight for lung health!
I suffer from asthma and without all the research from Asthma and Lung UK, many of the treatments that I am on would not exist. Also, I am a children’s nurse, looking after children with respiratory conditions that Asthma and Lung UK research and give lots of useful and easy information to anyone so they can understand their condition more. As most people will know, fitness and running does not come easily to me at all, I’ve always been last to be picked in PE (for good reason) and had lots of time out due to asthma. Over the last two years I’ve caught the running bug and for as long as I can remember I’ve always wanted to do the London Marathon.
Robbie is also running for Asthma and Lung UK as he has supported me through my bad asthma flare ups with numerous doses of steroids, chest infections, antibiotics and new asthma treatments. As well as this, Robbie’s dad, Ade, has aspergillosis meaning that he had half a lung removed and was the first person in the UK to have this done via keyhole surgery.
We have set this HUGE challenge for ourselves and to prove to anyone, even with asthma, that running a marathon is possible.
Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. We are running the London Marathon 2026 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.
Just £24 can support a researcher at the start of their career to carry out an hour of lung health research to ensure we attract and keep the best scientific minds to focus on lung disease.
Every penny/ pound towards our goal we will be so grateful for and will have it in our hearts when we are at kilometre 30 regretting our life choices haha! In all seriousness, thank you in advance!

Sunday 8th Mar Yesterday Sophie did a 17km training run! Soph normally trains with myself or a friend so going out and doing that long run alone is a huge achievement! Half marathon race this weekend - let’s go!!! Share
