I’m running the London Marathon 2026 to fight for lung health!
My name is Sophie and I am a 24 year old qualified paramedic working frontline for the ambulance service. In 2026 I will be participating in London Marathon in support of a charity extremely close to myself and my loved ones hearts; Asthma + Lung UK🫁
Following a diagnosis of brittle asthma, I have battled many lengthy hospital stays resulting in respiratory failure and a number of life threatening admissions to intensive care. After years of relentless hospitalisation and full steroid dependency, breakthroughs in treatment and access to specialist care has allowed me to begin to get my life back as well as to rebuild my love for both fitness and running which at times I never truly believed would be possible 🏃🏽♀️
I am absolutely honoured to have been given the opportunity to partake in London Marathon 2026 in support of Asthma + Lung UK. Asthma + Lung UK are a British based charity with an ultimate aim to better respiratory health. They offer endless services to support individuals as well as additionally hosting and partaking in charitable fundraising events for condition awareness and in aid of treatment advancements💜🧡🩷
My goal is to raise £2,500 for this incredible charity. Every single donation, no matter how big or small will support a cause that offers exceptional services for those who suffer with such debilitating conditions🫁
A donation or simply a share of this page will aid making a huge difference and change lives🫶🏼
Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. I'm running the London Marathon 2026 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.
Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice.
My Updates
Deferral Update🏃🏽♀️🧡
Sunday 15th FebIt is with nothing but pure devastation and disappointment to share that due to my health throwing nothing but consecutive curve balls making training near what impossible, the decision has been made that I have had to medically defer my marathon place to London Marathon 2027🫁
I cannot thank everyone enough for the love and support I have so far received this year- 2027 we will return stronger than ever and I cannot wait to make this dream a reality🏃🏽♀️💜
Goodluck to all of Team Breath 2026 and to all others participating🧡
