I’m running the London Marathon 2026 in memory of Mat
As most of you know, my amazing husband - Mat - died from pulmonary fibrosis last August. It is a horrible disease, which makes it increasingly hard for sufferers to breath. The decline can be (as in Mat's case) brutally sudden.
One of the things that has been a help for me over the past year (alongside the most wonderful family, friends and colleagues I could ever wish for), has been running. It's given be the space to be Suzy, and re-group for the next round of Mummy, Director, or whatever else comes my way. It also gives me pause to reflect on the importance of the simple act of breathing - which I no longer take for granted (especially on some of the steep hills near me!).
I have decided to take on the London Marathon next April, in memory of Mat. I am hoping to raise as much as I can to support Asthma and Lung UK in their amazing work across all areas of respiratory illness.

Wednesday 11th Mar Next month (gaaah) it's the big day!! I'll be taking on the London marathon with thousands of others!
