I’m running London Landmarks Half Marathon in the fight for breath!
Monday 24th Nov I’ve set myself the challenge of running the London Landmarks Half Marathon! I’ll be proudly representing and raising funds for Asthma + Lung UK, a cause that means a lot to me for a reason I’ve never spoken about publicly before.My Story:
Three years ago, my mum caught Influenza A at work. What began as a virus escalated quickly into Hypercapnic Respiratory Failure and we were told to prepare for the worst. After she spent a month in ICU, including 17 days on life support, the strength she showed and recovery is something my family thanks God for every day.
Asthma has also been part of my own life as I’ve lived with chronic asthma since birth and have faced everything from day-to-day limitations, yearly infections, serious attacks and hospital stays. Taking on this half marathon is my way of proving that with the right support, determination and management, we can push our limits and continue moving forward. Hoping to encourage and support others in the process.
By raising funds for Asthma + Lung UK, I hope to ensure that others living with lung conditions get the care and resources they need, so no one ever feels that they are facing things alone.
