London Marathon 2026

I’m running the London Marathon 2026 to fight for lung health!

In April 2026, I will run the London Marathon in memory of my dad and in aid of Team Breathe (Asthma + Lung UK), a charity that funds vital research into lung diseases, including pulmonary fibrosis, the illness that took my dad’s life a few weeks ago. It will be my third marathon, and probably my last (I don’t think my joints and ligaments can endure more!) . This one means more than any before.

Pulmonary fibrosis is a brutal and unrelenting illness. For five years, I watched it slowly take away my dad’s breath, his strength, and in the end, his life. I saw him choke, struggle for air, and endure long days and nights without relief. I watched my mum care for him with love and heartbreak. None of us could do anything. It’s something I would not wish on my worst enemy.

My dad was a quiet, kind, and good man. He had a calm presence that reassured everyone around him. He believed in fairness and equality. He was generous, and never asked for anything in return. I will endeavour to get through the training without complaining too much, in his memory.

If you feel moved to support me, I am raising funds for this worthy cause and I may also organise a concert closer to the time. But for now, I would be deeply grateful if you would consider sponsoring me.

Thank you for reading.
