I’m running London Landmarks Half Marathon in the fight for breath!

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with lung disease. I want to make a difference. I'm running London Landmarks for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

Just £22 could go towards Health Care Advisors and Respiratory Specialists supporting someone with the information they need to live well.

I have been lucky that in my career I can see all the great work A+LUK can do and how they change lives. They fund important research to help people living with a lung condition live happier and healthier lives and I am fortunate to be able to support that research! Advances in lung disease have progressed exponentially in the last few years and your donation can help advance this even further!

New year new research

Hellooooo, 

I am finally starting my official training plan after gradually building up in the summer. Armed with my new running gear from xmas and ready to face the cold/dark/rain. 

But running isn't my only venture this year, I am also leading on a project funded by Asthma and Lung UK to help people with breathlessness manage live better lives. Most people with a lung condition (as many as 77%) do not feel their breathlessness is well managed, and whilst drug discoveries in the last 3 years have been revolutionary, this focuses on modifying the disease and not managing to symptoms. Breathlessness is complex, it is affected by and effects all aspects of peoples lives, and with this project I am to understand breathlessness as a unique and individual experience, so we can provide personalised care in the future. 
I am grateful for the support Asthma and Lung UK provide me and my research, but it's not all about me. Asthma and Lung UK funds many life changing research projects and supports patients on a personal level. Whilst lung disease is THE BIGGEST killer, it only recieves 2% of public research funding. We need more research into this important area, and your donations can help us on the goal of a world where everyone can breathe!
