I Don’t Take Breathing For Granted Anymore

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to help change that.

I was diagnosed with asthma as an infant, and as a child I spent a lot of time in hospital because of it. I’ve struggled with chronic asthma for most of my adult life too l, and I’ll be the first to admit it was made worse by some lifestyle choices in my teens and twenties.

But in October 2023, I turned up and ran my very first parkrun. It took me around 42 minutes, but it gave me the bug.

Fast forward just one year later and I’d completed my first 30 mile ultramarathon, and I was deep into training for my first road marathon Eryri in October 2024.

Then, one week before the race, I was diagnosed with slight COPD.

Since then, I’ve still kept going. I completed Eryri again in 2025, and running has become a regular part of my life, not just for fitness, but for my lungs, my mindset, and my future.

That’s why I’m running the Cardiff Half Marathon 2026 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity fighting for everyone’s right to breathe.

Every pound I raise helps move us closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.
Just £22 could go towards Healthcare Advisors and Respiratory Specialists supporting someone with the information they need to live well.

Any support would mean the world, thank you so much for backing me in this fight for lung
