I’m running the London Marathon in the fight for breath
Asthma defined my family's life for a long time. Both of my sons developed it at a young age. I watched them struggle to run around like other kids, wheeze through frightening nights and, more than once, rushed them to A&E. Nothing makes you feel more helpless than watching your children fight for air.
With consistent medication, eventually it became more manageable. Asthma + Lung UK stood for families like mine. Their research, advice and support make can help push towards a future where fewer children suffer. I want to give back to that work.
Running is my therapy, and it's a freedom my boys once struggled to have. Every mile, I'll be running for them and for the millions who can't take breathing for granted. Taking on 26.2 miles for a cause that reflects something I've personally relied on feels like a genuinely fitting way to give back.
