I’m running Cardiff Half Marathon in the fight for breath!

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with lung disease. I want to make a difference. As someone who has suffered with Asthma their whole life and never dreamed they could run a half marathon, I'm running Cardiff for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

Just £22 could go towards Health Care Advisors and Respiratory Specialists supporting someone with the information they need to live well.

Hi, I’m Mae and I’ve lived with asthma my entire life.

Monday 21st Jul
From a young age, I was always active. I loved swimming and playing netball, but one thing you’d never catch me doing? Running! 

Like many of us, when I went to University, I let my physical health slide. I became the most unfit I’d ever been, and as a result, my asthma worsened. 

In 2024, I decided enough was enough. I joined the Couch to 5K programme with the support of Parc Bryn Bach Running Club, hoping to give my fitness the fresh start it needed. Little did I know, it would be a real turning point for me, and I completely fell in love with running. 

Fast forward a year, and I’m now aiming to complete my second half marathon, which will be in Cardiff in support of Asthma + Lung UK, a charity who does amazing work for people living with asthma and other lung conditions.
