I’m running Cardiff Half Marathon in the fight for breath!
Hello all, somehow, I will be running the Cardiff Half Marathon in October. Living with asthma myself has often meant extra time off ill or in doctor's appointments. Asthma + Lung is a great charity and has been pushing successive governments for stricter air quality targets. Living in poor quality air can increase your chances of developing asthma by up to 35%.
An asthma attack can be a pretty scary thing to go through. I don't take for granted the period of good health I've had recently, so while I have the ability to run and breathe, it feels only fair that I test out my lungs and give something back.

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with lung disease. I want to make a difference. I'm running Cardiff Half Marathon 2026 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.
Just £22 could go towards Health Care Advisors and Respiratory Specialists supporting someone with the information they need to live well.
