London Landmarks 2026

I’m running London Landmarks Half Marathon in the fight for breath ! and to do the biggest run of my life so far 😬

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with lung disease. I want to make a difference. I'm running London Landmarks for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

Just £22 could go towards Health Care Advisors and Respiratory Specialists supporting someone with the information they need to live well.

Any support would be amazing in my fight for lung health!

The Half Marathon Run

Monday 13th Apr
This time yesterday I was already running around parts of City of London. Feeling a little more human today all be it a tad sore.

What an experience, a lot of the course was around the St.Pauls , City of London area. First 6 miles were comfortable and steady. 10 miles after some cheers from friends and ALUK I really started ti feel it but I didn’t stop, didn’t stand in crazy ques for the loos along the course I didn’t walk ….

I’m here !

2 Weeks to go !

Friday 27th Mar
Not long now , the nerves are kicking in but so is the excitement too.
Training has been steady … after making a gentle recovery my knees at present are allowing me to run 10k without too much trouble so I don’t want to push my luck.
Not long back I got a PB at the Nottingham 10k , no idea how considering the hills endured , last week I got a PB at parkrun too. all thats left to do is have a great run and raise funds along the way for a deserving charity . Without charities like these medicine , science can not progress and help those in need.

Tickets are booked !

Friday 27th Feb
Thats the train tickets booked ! As a treat I’m going to have some extra days there to enjoy more of what London has to offer.
Can’t wait !

8 Weeks to go !

Friday 20th Feb
So after my small win at Parkrun the day before, despite my knee pain which had settled I thought its about time I start getting some regular 10k+’s in… so clever me thought I’d run to work.

From home in town all the way down Newark Rd, might stop at Asda, nah i’m doing good I thought, lets keep going can always stop at Maccies opposite Pennells.. Get ti Maccies, bloody ell i’m doing alright , it’s the last stretch i’m gonna make it !!

It wasn’t to be… got down the A46 just by the flyover.. and then my knee gives me a WTH are you doing taking me this far ? 15k in 2 days ! Mam it’s time to walk.

Devastated :(
And i’m still aching a week later. Admittedly thats because I’ve not rested, 3 days in London this week made sure there was no time for that. So I now need to make a choice in the morning… give 5k a go, keep myself moving… or do I rest ?

Training Update

Friday 20th Feb
Last week I got 3 PB’s in my Parkrun stats.
It felt better compared to usual I thought I’d ran faster, technically I did.. but just not enough to make me feel good about myself. It was a small win, my knee did’nt even try to fight me, I got all the way round. Then the walk home came and there is was… the knee pain… just reminding me to not get cocky that I had recovered.

February Training

Saturday 7th Feb
February’s training hasn’t started so well what with coming down with the latest lurgy. Today tho I did Lincoln’s Parkrun and managed to shave a few seconds off my previous time. Although it didn’t work out particularly faster it felt easier for the most part, the knee pain flared up again on the last lap which caused me to slow down. Any knee therapists out there??

1st 10k of the year.

Saturday 7th Feb
January’s training kicked off with Lincoln Parkrun and ended with the first of this years 10k Runs. Skegness 10k 1h 3m… with my ongoing knee problem which I coninsidently got from doing last years Skegness 10k I didn’t do too bad !

Taking a leap at fulfilling one of my Marathon ambitions.

Monday 14th Apr
For years I’ve thought I’m  just not good enough to undertake anything bigger than a 10k. While I have a few of those under my belt and not fantastic at them I haven't felt the need to really push myself to do better until now.  Its always been a dream since childhood to do the London Marathon and I really hope someday thats possible , the LLHM is the obvious next step.  Unlike a 10k , I can’t just stroll up to the starting phase line of the HM without any training. So I have the best part of a year to get my head in the game and a whole load of strength and distance training in. As an almost life long asthmatic I’m aware of the challenges it can present so it’s a natural choice to support such an important charity. I look forward to sharing the journey with you and welcome any encouragement and support along the way.

Thank You 🙏🏻
