My reason for running Cardiff Half 2026 for Asthma and Lung UK

Cardiff Half was my first ever half marathon which I ran in 2023. Prior to this, I had never considered as an asthmatic runner, who typically only ran park runs consistently (and not particularly well at times) that I would ever be able to complete much more than this. Then, somehow a friend, convinced me it was possible! 

I completed this half marathon in a time of 2:54:26. I had hoped for a quicker time, but a chest infection earlier in the year hindered this, but I was still incredibly proud. 

Cardiff Half Marathon holds a special place, as it was the first time, I really realised I could complete something on this scale.

Over the last few years, I’ve had a bad case of covid, long covid, chest infections, anxiety induced asthma and breathing difficulties, it’s been a long road to this moment in time. However,  it is slowly coming back into a place, where running doesn’t feel as hard as it has done, and I am excited to take on this location again, and all for asthma UK, who without their research, I wouldn’t be able to live the life I live!
