I’m running The Great North Run in the fight for breath!
I am running The Great North Run 2025 in order to raise money for Asthma & Lung UK, in memory of my aunty Tracey who we lost suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday 10th April 2025.
On the run up to the GNR I will be doing monthly challenges to raise as much money as possible, starting with:
May - Sunderland Half Marathon ✅
June - Run 100 miles ✅
July - 26 mile coastal walk ✅
August - Scafell Pike and Hellvellyn ✅
September - GNR
In the UK, one in five people have been diagnosed with a lung disease, including around 5.4 million people with asthma, and 12.7 million with a history of a long-standing lung condition. Approximately 115,000 people die from lung disease annually; making it the third biggest killer in the UK.
Lung conditions only receive 2% of public health research funding; 2/3 of asthma related deaths could be prevented with better routine care.
Asthma & Lung UK are a charity fighting for a future where everyone has healthy lungs and the ability to breathe freely.
