I’m running the London Marathon 2025 to fight for lung health!

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. I'm running the London Marathon 2025 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!

Running for Breath: My journey to the London Marathon
As a Respiratory Nurse Soecialist I've spent more years than I care to remember working closely with patients who battle everyday to breathe easily, it is a personal and professional mission to support those with respiratory conditions  now I'm taking that mission one step further - quite literally - by running my first marathon.

2025 marks a significant milestone for me as I reach the grand old age of 60, many may expect me to celebrate with a huge party but instead I've decided to celebrate in a way that aligns to my passion and profession and I've  been lucky enough to gain a charity place for the London Marathon in April 2025. This decision is more that just a personal challenge; it's about giving back and making a meaningful impact, and also to make  my amazing grandsons Finn and Kit proud of their Grandma!

Why  did i choose Asthma and Lung UK?
They are a charity close to my heart, every step I take in the Marathon and the months of traning before hand is not just a challenge to my physical and mental  endurance but a dedication to the people I have seen in clinic or nursed on wards and in their own homes who face far greater challenges every day.The money I  hope to raise will help towards crucial research and provide support for those affected by lung disease.
And you never know you may be sponsoring the last person to cross the finish line so you could  be basking in my 5 minutes of fame!
