London Landmarks Half Marathon 2027

I’m running the London Landmarks 2027 to fight for lung health!

I sadly lost my dad to COPD on 31st July 2026, and this has given me a very personal reason for wanting to support Asthma + Lung UK.

My dad’s illness and loss have had a huge impact on myself and my family. We would like to turn our grief into something positive by giving back and raising money for a charity that does such important work supporting people affected by lung conditions and funding vital research.

Running a half marathon is a huge challenge, but having my dad and his memory as my motivation will give me the determination to push myself every step of the way.

I would like the opportunity to raise as much money and awareness as possible, not only in memory of my dad but also for the many other families affected by COPD and other lung conditions.

A difficult week

Saturday 19th Sep

This week has been a really difficult one for me.

I’ve really struggled with grief, more than I expected. Some days I feel like I’m coping, and then suddenly it hits me all over again.

Grief really is unpredictable. You can have a good day and then something so small can bring everything rushing back.

I’m trying to remind myself that it’s okay to have difficult days. I don’t have to be strong all the time, and I don’t have to pretend that I’m okay when I’m not.

I just miss my Dad.

I’m taking each day as it comes and trying to hold onto the memories and the little signs.

One day at a time and reminding myself that wine is NOT always the answer 😬

First training run 14.9.26

Saturday 19th Sep

My First Training Run 🏃‍♀️😬

Today I did something I was kind of dreading… my first training run towards completing a half marathon.

It might not sound like a huge achievement to everyone, but for me, it’s a massive step. I’m starting from the  beginning, building my fitness and slowly working towards the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 4th April 2027.

And I’m doing it all in memory of my amazing Dad, Bill. ❤️

Losing Dad to COPD has changed so much for me and my family. I wanted to turn some of that heartbreak into something positive — raising money and awareness for Asthma & Lung UK.

Today was definitely challenging! 😂 There were tired legs, heavy breathing and plenty of moments wondering what on earth I had signed myself up for!

But I did it.

My first training run is done. ✅

And then something happened that made today feel even more special.

During my run, I found a white feather.

I know some people might see it as just a feather, but to me, it felt like a little sign from Dad — almost as if he was there with me, reminding me that I’m not doing this alone.

It honestly brought tears to my eyes.

There are going to be difficult days ahead. There will be days when I don’t feel like running, days when my legs hurt and probably plenty of moments when I question what I’ve signed myself up for!

But whenever it gets tough, I’ll remember why I started.

Every step is for Dad. Every mile is in his memory. And hopefully, I’ll cross that finish line with him in my heart.

Today was only the first run.

But it was the beginning of something very special.

Dad, this one’s for you.
