I'm running the London Marathon 2025 to fight for lung health!

I’ve been delaying sharing the news for some time now, due to nerves, but I’m now excited to say that I’ll be participating in the London Marathon in April 2025. I’ve never ran before and I’m excited to push myself and jump right in at the deep end.

I’m doing this to raise awareness and funds for a Charity that holds huge significance in my life. I’ll be running for Asthma + Lung UK and will be a part of Team Breathe.

In 2018, my wife Charlotte, received the incredible gift of a heart and had her life-saving transplant. Over the years, Charlotte and our loved ones have raised awareness for charities such as CRY and Wythenshawe Hospital New Start, both of which, drastically helped saved her life. 

Unfortunately, there is another side to this story and Charlotte’s heart donor and hero, Kirsty, sadly passed away following an Asthma attack. 

I am so grateful to be able to spend the rest of my life with my best friend however, it’s important I recognise the pain that Kirsty’s family are going through, as well as their bravery. I won’t ever be able to express the gratitude for such a selfless decision in the darkest times. In honour of Kirsty and her family, I would like to raise awareness for how dangerous Asthma and other lung conditions can be, and to help fund support for those diagnosed every minute in the UK. 

It felt surreal finding out this is how Kirsty passed away, having struggled with Asthma my entire life, along with the fact that my middle name, Daniel, is in remembrance of my older brothers childhood friend, whom also sadly passed away from Asthma complications at a very young age. 

I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make! As Asthma + Lung UK say, breath is life. That’s worth fighting for.
