London Marathon 2025

I’m running the London Marathon 2025 to fight for lung health!

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. I'm running the London Marathon 2025 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!

Last Steady Training Long Run completed! 💪🏼

Monday 7th Apr
Yesterday I completed my longest training run EVER completed! 35KM / 21.7 miles!

I was due to do this run last year, but 5 days beforehand, I suffered a nasty fall, and I bruised my lower back/glutes. When I tried to run a couple of days later, the pain was really bad so I had to rest and skip this one. That plays on your mind, so I feel so much happier knowing I’ve missed some other runs this time around for various reasons, but I’ve managed to nail this one!

I’ve woken up today in relatively good shape. I’ve got tired, achey legs but nothing more, and I’ve eaten allllllllll of the food today! 🐷

It feels really good to have gotten to this stage of my training plan. Looking forward to the taper!

As ever, a huge thank you for all of the support I’ve had. I couldn’t do this without you ❤️

30KM completed after sporadic March training!

Saturday 29th Mar
Well I was so, so nervous this morning as I made my way to the start line for my longest run so far (30KM/18.5 miles). Having to retire 5KM into a long run seriously affects your confidence, and with four intensive days of skiing, I’ve been so worried about overloading my legs, plus my “easy” and tempo/fast runs this week have been a massive slog!

But I smashed it and had a great run with some of my wonderful Shadwell Runners for the first 12K, and my London wing woman Sharon for the full distance! 💥 my legs were absolutely fine! 💪🏼

Four weeks tomorrow!!!! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

Welcome to my fundraising page!

Tuesday 10th Dec

1 in 5 of us will have a lung condition during our lifetime. There's a new diagnosis every minute. I lost my mum very unexpectedly in September 2014. She had COPD but she was managing with inhalers and wasn’t yet relying on oxygen. Sadly she caught a chest infection and died. She was 61.

I also lost one of my closest friends, my husband’s cousin Laura, to lung cancer in 2021. She was 41.

In high school I lost a very close friend to asthma. She was called Saimah and she was 15.

I only really started running consistently in 2022 when I started training for the Great North Run, my first half marathon. I smashed my training and loved every single minute of the race. I never once in a million years believed I could run a marathon, but I realised that dream in April 2024 when I ran the London Marathon for the very first time. I loved every single minute of the 4 hours 49 minutes and I was well and truly hooked.

I entered the London Marathon 2025 ballot, but when the unsurprising email landed to say I was unsuccessful, I was gutted. I found myself looking to see if I could get a charity place, and I stumbled across Team Breathe’s page.

So here I am fundraising for Asthma + Lung UK. They’re the only UK charity that fights for everyones right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UKs nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I'd be very grateful for any sized donation you are able to make. It’s really true when they say Every Penny Counts!

Today marks the start of my 20 training plan and it’s a nice easy one with an 8KM run with my gang. My legs feel good and I’m raring to go! 🙌🏼
