I’m running the London Landmarks 2027 for better lung health.
This year, I’ll be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in support of Asthma + Lung UK — a charity whose work feels incredibly close to both my professional and personal values.
I work within the NHS in a patient-facing role in asthma research, and every day I meet people whose lives are affected by asthma and other lung conditions. For many, asthma is far more than “just an inhaler.” It can affect sleep, education, work, exercise, mental health, and confidence. Even with modern treatments, too many people still experience severe symptoms leading to frequent courses of steroids, hospitalisations and uncertainty about their condition.
What inspires me about Asthma + Lung UK is their commitment not only to supporting people living with lung conditions today, but also to driving the research that will improve care tomorrow.
Research is essential in helping us better understand why asthma affects people differently, how we can personalise treatment, and how we can prevent severe attacks before they happen. Every breakthrough — whether it’s new treatments, better diagnostics, or improved care pathways — starts with research.
Asthma + Lung UK plays a vital role in funding research, campaigning for better lung health, and providing support and information for patients and families across the UK.
By running this half marathon, I hope to contribute in a small way to the work they do to improve the lives of people living with asthma and lung disease.
If you’re able to donate, thank you — every contribution helps support vital research and patient support.
