London Landmarks Half Marathon 2027

We're running the London Landmarks 2027 to fight for lung health!

Why we're running 13.1 miles for Asthma + Lung UK,

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition and our family knows this reality all too well.

My brother Karl and I are taking on the London Landmarks Half Marathon in loving memory of my father-in-law, Cliff, who passed away from pulmonary fibrosis in March 2026 and his father-in-law, Ken, who passed away from lung cancer ten years ago. We also want to honour our dad, John, who battles emphysema every day.

Seeing the people you love struggle to breathe is heart breaking. We want to help fund vital research and support services so other families don't have to face this alone.

Every pound raised keeps us moving through the streets of London and supports #TeamBreathe. If you are able to donate or share, the link is below. Thank you so much for standing with us.

My Updates

Currently built for pleasure

Saturday 5th Sep
…not speed!! 😄 Another parkrun, at another location. This was a very bumpy course, with quite a lot of little potholes, so it was hard to keep a steady pace. Karl beat me by around 3mins. I’m still hurting from the 7.5K, and I’m sticking to that excuse!

Lee’s longest run yet!

Thursday 3rd Sep
So, today Runna had me do a 7.5K run. Not gonna lie, it hurt!!! But, as they say, no pain, no gain! I hope they’re right 😄

Stanborough parkrun

Saturday 22nd Aug
Today, we did Stanborough parkrun. This one is also quite hilly, but not as bad as Panshanger. Which one will we do next?? FYI, the stats are mi in the picture. Karl was a couple of minutes quicker than me.

New trainers

Wednesday 19th Aug
Quick update on the last post. Our Dad was released from hospital yesterday, so hopefully he's going to feel a lot better. I have invested in new running shoes, hopefully they are as trustworthy as my last pair of Brooks!!

C25K - Tick!!!

Friday 14th Aug
That's it! We've completed the C25K plan. Now the real work starts 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

C25K. Completed it mate

Thursday 13th Aug
So...I (Lee) graduated Couch 2 5k on 01/Aug. Karl is due to complete it on 14/Aug! We have signed up for a 10K at Knebworth House, which is on the 1st of November. Another milestone to keep the motivation going! I'm using Runna to keep me on track. Not sure what Karl's plan is? But think he's going to try the graduate plan with C25K. Thanks to all who have sponsored us, it's greatly appreciated. Our dad is currently in hospital due to his emphysema, so fingers crossed for him. Just confirms we're running for the right cause!!

Panshanger parkrun

Saturday 1st Aug
So a first milestone! Today we did Panshanger parkrun. The first 2.5k is all up hill, so took a lot out of us. But we're no quitters!! Onwards and upwards!!!

Burlingham Bro's

Wednesday 22nd Jul
Just a quick note to say that my bro (Karl), and I will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on 4th/Apr/2027. We are aiming to raise £800, so any donations are welcome. We will post updates of the journey, and I will update the page as soon as, to give our specific reasons for why we are running for Asthma + Lung UK.

Thanks in advance,
Lee and Karl.
