I’m running the London Marathon 2025 to fight for lung health!

Hi, my name is Maddy Brown and I am going to be running the London Marathon 2025 for Asthma + Lung UK, and aim to raise at least £2000 before the marathon takes place on 27th April 2025. I have decided to run for this charity as it means a lot to my family. Firstly, I suffer with asthma as well as many other members in my family. My Grandad passed away in 2012 from Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) after suffering for many years and being on oxygen 24 hours a day. My Grandma (his wife) had Tuberculosis (TB) when she was young and is currently suffering from bronchiectasis; she is on constant medication due to the condition of her disease getting worse continuously over time. I would like to run this marathon in memory of my Grandad and to raise money for a charity that is helping to battle lung diseases and transforming lung health within the UK. I am also going to be doing some other fundraising events, starting with the Great South Run which is a 10 mile run on the 20th October 2024. Any donations would be so greatly appreciated. BAKE SALE!

Friday 21st Mar
With the help of my course mates, I ran a bake sale today at my university campus in Derby medical school and raised about £75. It helped me to reach the half way mark of my £2000 goal! It was great fun, thank you to everyone that helped or baked something for me to sell 💞🧁

Great South Run got cancelled :(

Wednesday 30th Oct
The Great South Run got cancelled last weekend :( I still wanted to do something as I had been training for it so I decided to do a half marathon. It was really hard and challenging but I loved it and am so proud of myself 💪🏼
