I’m running the London Marathon 2025 to fight for lung health!
As some of you know, I ran the Manchester Marathon in 2023 in aid of my grandmother for Parkinson’s UK.
In April of this year, I will now be undertaking the London Marathon in aid of asthma and lung disease UK for my grandad, who among battling cancer, also had to live with asthma his entire life, a chronic lung disease that was severely under researched with limited medication at the time.
People with asthmatic parents are six times more likely to develop the disease which was passed onto my mum, who has been been rushed to hospital via ambulance on more than one occasion from her asthma, and then, to a much less severe extent, myself in my early childhood, where I was reliant on an inhaler until I was around 13.
Every 1 minute someone is diagnosed with lung disease, and money is required to progress research to better advance medication and treatment. Whatever you can afford to give I would be deeply appreciative!!
As a cherry on top, I will also be competing in the Hyrox Pro event the weekend before the marathon, so your donations will come with a double weekend of pain, how’s that for bang for your buck!
