London Marathon 2025

I’m running the London Marathon 2025 to fight for lung health!

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition.

My family has been affected by Lung Cancer twice in the past 3 years. I want to make a difference. Grandads i’m doing this for you!

I'm running the London Marathon 2025 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!

My Updates

This Sunday, I’ll be running the London Marathon. 🏃🏽‍♀️💪🏼

Tuesday 22nd Apr
It’s hard to believe that after months of training, the big day is finally here. From running in the ice, rain, and freezing dark mornings, to pushing through 35km in the heat — this has genuinely been one of the toughest challenges I’ve ever taken on.

I’m incredibly proud (and emotional!) to be running in memory of my two amazing grandads, who will be with me every step of the 26.2 miles. ❤️

Thanks to the generosity of so many people, I’ve already hit my fundraising target — but I’m not stopping there. Every penny goes towards helping everyone have the right to breathe, through the life-changing work of Asthma + Lung UK.

Thank you to everyone who’s supported me on this journey so far — every donation, message, and cheer means the world. Let’s do this! 🙌

Update!

@mollyenser

Had to cut my run short today — but just a few days ago I could barely walk after trapping a nerve in my lower back. Progress isn’t always linear, but I can do hard things. I’m resilient, I’m healing, and I’ll be fit and ready on marathon day. Trust the process. #icandohardthings #londonmarathon #londonmarathon2025 #startwave #tcslondonmarathon #londonmarathontraining #fyp #running #strava #runna #marathontraining #justagirl

My final long run before the London Marathon — 32K (actually closer to 35K!) complete. 🏃🏽‍♀️💪🏼

Monday 7th Apr
With just three weeks to go until I take on the London Marathon, I hit a huge milestone this weekend by completing my longest training run to date. Due to GPS issues and a mid-run app crash (of course…), the distance didn’t track properly, but after mapping it out later, I realised I’d actually run closer to 35 kilometres.

It hasn’t been an easy journey. I’ve been dealing with double ankle injuries, persistent shin splints, and plenty of physical and mental hurdles — but every step has been worth it.

I’m running in support of Asthma + Lung UK, in memory of my two grandads, both of whom suffered from lung conditions. This cause is incredibly close to my heart, and I know they’d both be proud to see me pushing through to the finish line, no matter how long it takes me to get there!

I’m now just under £500 away from my fundraising target. If you’d like to support this amazing charity and help me reach the finish line with purpose!

Thank you for all the support so far — and here’s to the final stretch!

🏃‍♀️ Four Weeks to Go – Running for My Grandads 💜

Monday 31st Mar
I can’t believe I’m only four weeks away from running the London Marathon! When I first started this journey, 26.2 miles felt impossible. But yesterday, I ran 10K, and it felt like nothing—a sign of just how much my endurance has grown. The finish line is getting closer, and with every step I take, I feel stronger, both physically and emotionally.

But this marathon is about so much more than just running. I’m doing this in memory of my two amazing grandads, who both lost their lives to cancers caused by asbestosis. They were strong, kind, and always full of love, and I carry their memory with me every single day. This challenge is my way of honoring them—of turning pain into purpose and making a difference for others facing lung disease.

I hope they’d be proud of me. I hope they’d see the miles I’ve put in, the strength I’ve found, and the determination that’s carried me through every step. I know that when I cross that finish line, they’ll be in my heart, pushing me forward.

I’m raising money for Asthma + Lung UK, a charity fighting for better research, treatment, and support for people with lung conditions. If you can, please consider donating to this important cause. Every pound helps make a difference.

Pushing Through: My Toughest Training Run Yet

Monday 24th Mar
Marathon training isn’t just about the miles—it’s about resilience. Today, I ran somewhere between 23-27k (Strava crashed, my watch says 27k, so I’m calling it a win). That also means I’ve completed the 25k challenge!

But this one tested me. It was exhausting from start to finish, and at one point, a wave of anxiety hit me hard. There were a lot of tears, and I wanted to stop. But I kept putting one foot in front of the other because I’m not doing this just for myself—I’m doing this for my Grandads.

I’m running the London Marathon for Asthma + Lung UK in their memory, to help fund vital research and support for those living with lung conditions. As tough as today was, it was a reminder of why this challenge matters. My husband and our dog joined me for the last 5k, and their support gave me the push I needed to finish.

Now more than ever, I need your support. If you can, please consider donating—every contribution makes a real difference.

Halfway There! 🏃‍♀️💨

Monday 17th Mar
Yesterday, I ran 20K, which is nearly half a marathon—and it’s wild to think that in just six weeks, I’ll be doing that distance twice! Training for a marathon is tough enough, but doing it with a double ankle injury has been a whole new challenge. It means I’m slower than I’d like to be, but I’m giving this everything I’ve got. Some runs feel impossible, but I remind myself why I’m doing this—and that keeps me going.

I’m running to raise money for Asthma & Lung UK in memory of my grandads, who both passed away from mesothelioma, an asbestos-related cancer. They were both incredibly strong, and their strength reminds me that I can push through every painful step of this race.

New distance milestone unlocked! 🎉

Monday 10th Mar
Yesterday, I ran the furthest I’ve ever run – and I felt amazing! I followed the pace my plan had set for me, kept steady, and came back with energy to spare. Knowing I can go even further is such a boost as I get closer to London Marathon day!

But this challenge is about more than just running. I’m doing this for my grandads, who both passed away from cancers linked to asbestosis. I’m running in their memory and raising money for Asthma + Lung UK, a charity working to support those affected by lung conditions and fund vital research.

If you’d like to cheer me on, a donation would mean the world. Every step I take is for them. 💙

Pushing Through Challenges – One Step at a Time 🏃‍♀️❄️

Monday 24th Feb
Yesterday, I took on the London Winter Run, battling through the cold, my ongoing shin splints, and my ever-weak ankles. It wasn’t my fastest race, but for me, it was never about speed—it’s about progress, resilience, and pushing through challenges.

Running has never come easily to me. Injuries, setbacks, and self-doubt have all tried to hold me back. But every time I lace up my trainers, I remind myself why I’m doing this—for my grandads, and for everyone affected by lung conditions.

That’s why I’m running the London Marathon and raising money for Asthma + Lung UK, a charity working to support those living with respiratory conditions and funding vital research.

This journey has taught me that progress isn’t always linear. Some days, the run feels easy; other days, every step is a battle. But each finish line crossed—no matter the pace—is a reminder of how far I’ve come.

Why I am running

Monday 8th Jul

I am honoured to be running the London Marathon for Team Breathe in 2025. I am from Guildford in Surrey, and my running experience has mainly been the odd 5 or 10k, so this will be a great challenge for me! 🙈

I am running for one reason. My Grandads.

In November 2021 I lost my Grandad to Asbestosis related Cancer, this was a real shock to the family and, having only being diagnosed in the September, a very short time to adjust.

Fast forward two years and my other Grandad has been diagnosed with the same Asbestos related Cancer, this has been a huge shock to have two relatives diagnosed with the same quite rare cancer.

I am running for both of them and hope that the money I can raise can help aid research and support for others.

Anything you can donate, how ever much is greatly appreciated.

Thank you to my Sponsors
