COVID had a huge impact on Lung health around the world. Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. I'm running the London Marathon 2025 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. My family’s story is deeply tied to lung health. My grandmother died of tuberculosis. My grandfather, a WW2 veteran, lived with only one lung before passing away from respiratory problems. My dad has Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. My mum has asthma. And so do I. Breathing has been a challenge for generations of my family.
Chronic respiratory diseases like asthma and COPD affect millions worldwide. COPD is the fourth leading cause of death worldwide and will soon be the third. Did you know that over 7.2 million people in the UK alone live with asthma? That’s 8 in every 100 people you know. These numbers are staggering, but together, we can make a difference.
