I’m running the London Marathon 2025 to fight for lung health!
Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. I'm running the London Marathon 2025 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.
Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!
I am 27 years old and all my life I’ve been around family that have struggled with asthma and COPD. My nan had both Asthma and COPD, me and my mum spent many years caring for her – my mum leaving her job to do so and I helped after school and weekends from the age of 7. During this time my mum also had Asthma and after my nan passed away we found out that she also had COPD.
It was a really scary time after seeing my nan go through everything that she did it was a difficult time for both me and my mum. In 2019 my mum sadly passed away at the age of 54 with COPD being her cause of death – I was her carer for 5 years in the run up to that day.
It was a very lonely and scary time and we received so much support from Asthma and Lung UK (British Lung Foundation as you were at that time) and I honestly can’t put into words how much that meant for me and especially my mum.
I am so excited to have the opportunity to run the 2025 London Marathon as part of Team Breathe and raise money for this amazing charity. It did so much for me and my family and I would love to be able to give something back to help them continue with their fantastic work. It is a charity so close to my heart.
