London Marathon 2025

I’m running the London Marathon 2025 to fight for lung health!

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. I'm running the London Marathon 2025 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!

1 week to go!

Thursday 24th Apr
It’s been a rocky year so far but I am on the plane ready to fly to London for the London Marathon 2025. I was planning on being better about sharing my journey to this point but life happens. The quick update…
My plantar fasciitis subsided finally after 6 months of trying to “fix” it. This was just in time to start January training for the marathon. After diligently training for 12 weeks and making quick Miami trips on weekends to help out my sister, brother,  and sister-in-law who have been invaluable with Mom and Dad care, I found myself at the wrong place at the wrong time. A car running a red light crashed into my car just as I was leaving a Mom visit. This occurred 3 weeks ago Saturday. I now have a broken clavicle from the accident (and a partially torn hamstring). Since then I have gone back and forth with whether/not to run. After many xrays, MRI, PT and ortho visits, I have decided to go for it. Many of my family and friends have donated to my charity, Asthma and Lung, UK and I am so appreciative. The generosity has definitely been a weighing factor in my decision to go ahead and run.  I have also been inspired by other runners running for this charity who suffer way worse conditions than my asthma but they don’t let it stop them. I have had to wrap my brain around the fact that this run will be an ugly one and will not be a PB. But, I am determined to cross the finish line and reach my fundraising goal for this wonderful charity. I promise you, at some point in your life, you, or a loved one, or a close friend/family member will be affected by one of the many efforts of this charity whether it be asthma, COPD, lung cancer, allergies, pneumonia or even the result of breathing toxic air. I am posting the link to my charity page if you would like to make a donation. If making a donation is not an option for you at this time, I would also be so thankful for well wishes and prayers that I successfully manage to cross the finish line representing Asthma and Lung, UK🇬🇧 🏃‍♀️ I am dedicating this run to Mom!!

London Marathon 2025

Tuesday 30th Jul
Hello! I am so excited to run with Team Breathe. This will be my 5th star and my 7th marathon. Somewhere at the beginning of my marathon racing I was diagnosed with asthma which was surprising (not diagnosed til I am in my 50’s!?) but explained a lot. I initially thought I would not be able to run as much anymore but my pulmonologist urged me to continue running. He said it was actually beneficial. So here I am getting ready to run London! I am currently fighting plantar fasciitis in my right foot but hope to be good to start training soon! I am so grateful to be running for Asthma + Lung and raise money for all its endeavors. Good luck to everyone!!
