Running for Mum – Fighting for Every Breath

Hi everyone,

On April 1st, 2025, We lost our incredible mum to COPD, asthma, and lung cancer. She battled every single day just to breathe, and she did it with more strength and dignity than I can put into words. Oxygen support at home gave us precious extra time together, more than doctors thought we’d have, and for that, I’ll always be grateful.

In her final months, my mum fought so hard. Now, it’s my turn to fight in her memory. I’ve decided to run a marathon—not because I’m a runner (far from it!), but because I want to push myself, to struggle with every breath, and to raise awareness for the people who do this every single day, not by choice, but by necessity.

Running is going to be hard. It’s going to hurt. And it won’t be pretty. But it still won’t come close to the daily challenges faced by those living with lung disease. Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice.

I’m running to raise funds for Asthma and Lung UK, an incredible organisation that supports individuals and families dealing with lung conditions. They provide critical care and research to help improve the quality of life and outcomes for people like my mum.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, helps. Whether it’s the price of a coffee or a full sponsorship, you’re helping someone out there catch another breath, live another day, and spend more time with the people they love.
