I’m running the Royal Parks Half Marathon in the fight for breath!

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with lung disease. This year, I want to make a difference.

I’m running the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2025 in support of Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity dedicated to fighting for everyone’s right to breathe.

I’m running for my son, Rupert, and for everyone living with Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) — a rare, lifelong genetic condition that affects the lungs and airways. For people like Rupert, the tiny hair-like structures in the lungs, called cilia, don’t work properly. This means mucus can’t be cleared from the airways, leading to frequent chest infections, breathing difficulties, and progressive lung damage over time.

PCD is rare, under-researched, and often misunderstood — which is why charities like Asthma + Lung UK are so vital. They fund groundbreaking research, provide specialist support, and campaign so that everyone with lung disease gets the care they deserve.

Just £22 could allow one of their specialist nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, giving potentially lifesaving advice to someone who desperately needs it.
