London Marathon 2025

I’m running the London Marathon 2025 to fight for lung health!

Many of you may already know why I chose Asthma & Lung UK but some of you won’t. When choosing a charity to run for there was no doubt in my mind that it had to be Asthma & Lung. It had to be a charity I could connect with and it had to be something that meant something to me. So here is my why..

Back in 2009, my partner and his siblings lost their mother, Nicola. Or Nanny in the clouds as our daughters call her 🤍✨ and whilst I was never blessed with meeting her running in her memory is an honour.

Not only did Asthma affect Nanny in the clouds, it also affects the majority of our family including my partner and our two daughters. We live with this in our household and our family with the constant reminder of just how serious it is and can be for many. It’s never ‘just Asthma’.

As a girl who has never run further than a slow 10km and isn’t bless when it comes to running, this will be one hell of journey I’m sure but I’m excited for the challenge 🤩

Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. I'm running the London Marathon 2025 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.

Just £22 allows one of Asthma + Lung UK's nurses to answer a call on the Helpline, offering potentially lifesaving advice. I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make!

My Updates

30KM run 🏃‍♀️🤪

Friday 11th Apr
Last Sunday I ran 30km. I can’t quite believe it (admittedly slower than your average runner but I’m a slow girly that’s nothing new 🙊) I genuinely felt like my whole body was going to give up on me towards the end, I cried, but never once did I consider giving up. I’m not sure where I’m going to dig another 12.2km from on the day but when your girls gotta get it done best believe she gets it done one way or another 🤪

Mothers Day 17km 🌸🧡🏃‍♀️💜

Sunday 30th Mar
17km SAY WHAT 😱 Never knew I even had it in me to be honest haha. 4 weeks until the London Marathon and I’ve only been back running for 1 week following a 3 month break. Who knows what’ll happen on the day but I actually don’t care 🤪🥰 I’ve got 4 weeks to run some serious miles and hope for the best!✌🏼

10km Milestone

Sunday 20th Oct
First 10km post injury feels like a milestone 🤍 I was comfortably running 10km when I injured my calf last time so there’s lots of attention to stretching & recovery to ensure I get past this 10km milestone this time without another 8-10 weeks out. Today felt HARD. Running against the wind for 6/7km and the next moment being blown every which way possible was far from ideal. Going into today’s run pace wasn’t a priority, distance was. And I did it ✨

September Update 🫧✨

Sunday 29th Sep
Running hasn’t been easy post injury. My calfs have been problematic ever since which hasn’t been fun. But I’m not giving up, I worked so hard pre injury and even post injury. I won’t stop now.

I sadly wasn’t able to run my half marathon I  had planned at the beginning of September but that ok. I’m hoping I may be able to get another one booked in for the end of year but we shall see how training goes.

I’ve finished my 6 week recovery plan and I’m 2 weeks into the next 10 week plan which is a 10km plan.

Hopefully things can only get better 🤞🏼 x

Returning to running post injury ✨

Friday 2nd Aug
If there’s anyone reading this, hi 💖

Just before I was offered my London Marathon charity place I sustained a calf injury and me being me, wouldn’t admit defeat. Understandably, it got much worse to the point I couldn’t weight bear on my leg and walking alone was an effort. I could forget running.

I thought a couple of weeks rest would do the job but sadly it didn’t which then led me to Physio. And my only regret is not listening to my body sooner and getting physio sooner.

8 weeks of no running, daily exercises and rest later and I’m finally back running. Albeit, slowly and only short distances. But I’m back 🎉

So the journey begins again, rebuilding my stamina, distance and working on my time.

XOXO

Why Asthma & Lung UK?

Monday 20th May

My goal is set at £2000 however, I would love to achieve above and beyond that.

Any donation regardless to size is greatly appreciated ❤️
