I’m running the GNR - remembering my beautiful Mam ❤️
Sunday 15th MarI am running the Great North Run 2026 to raise awareness for asthma and lung conditions, a cause that is incredibly close to my heart.
I decided to take on this challenge in November last year, inspired by my mam, who lived with COPD for 15 years. Watching her struggle to breathe and seeing the things she once loved taken from her was heartbreaking. She spent the last five years on oxygen and the final year and a half in and out of hospital, until she very sadly passed away on 17th December 2025.
I never got the chance to tell her I would be running for this charity—but I want to make her proud. My goal is to raise awareness, support families affected by these debilitating illnesses, and honour my mam’s memory.
