Hi, my name’s Aaron, and I’ve somehow managed to secure a place in the London Marathon! 👀😳

Back in April 2026, I was feeling really inspired while watching the London Marathon (as you do) and thought to myself I want to try something outside my comfort zone and see if I can complete this long arse race. 🏁 

Well, on Friday when I was not feeling inspired whatsoever (as a matter of fact I was shattered and couldn’t think of anything worse than running a long arse day) I got an email to say that I had been awarded a place at the London Marathon through my chosen charity Asthma & Lung UK 🎉🟣🟠 

Now you may or may not but I’m a 35-year-old dad who’s partied, smoked/vaped and drunk too many beers that I’m willing to admit too over the last 15+ years 😎🤪 I’ve also probably only completed a handful of 5k runs in my lifetime so why I thought to myself 26.2 miles would be alright I have no idea 🏃🏻🤦🏻

This is going to be a huge challenge for me, both mentally and physically, especially as I have asthma myself. But the main reason I’m doing it is FOR MUM and to help raise money and awareness for everyone living with asthma and lung conditions. 🫁❤️

We lost our mum in 2020 to COPD, a lung disease she had been living with for many years. Life just hasn’t been the same without her and I miss her every day.

My fiancé Georgia, my brother Alfie and my niece Hollie have all completed marathons in Mum’s memory so as the eldest son I guess it’s my turn! ❤️💪

If I can cross that finish line, I’ll feel like I’ve done her proud. Because if she were still here and I told her I was running a marathon, she’d probably say:

“Good luck, knobhead — you’ve got no hope!” 😂😂
