I’m running the London Marathon 2027 to fight for lung health!
Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. I'm running the London Marathon 2027 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.
Just £24 can support a researcher at the start of their career to carry out an hour of lung health research to ensure we attract and keep the best scientific minds to focus on lung disease.
Any support would be amazing in my fight for lung health!

Why I am running the 2027 London Marathon for Asthma and Lung UK
Friday 12th Jun
Some people will know that lung disease has affected my family a great deal over the years. First my Grandma, then my Auntie, and then in December 2020 I lost my Mum, Mandy Chippindale, to Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.
In the lead up to her death, Mum suffered for some time and was misdiagnosed on a number of occasions. Why she developed this disease was never known. Despite the hard work and care of the teams at Northern General Hospital in Sheffield and Bassetlaw Hospital, nobody was able to give us a clear answer, let alone a cure.
That is why I am fundraising for Asthma + Lung UK. I want to support further research into Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and other lung diseases, in the hope that fewer families have to go through what my Mum, Grandma and Auntie went through.
When I line up for Team Breathe at the London Marathon on Sunday 25th April 2027, and throughout all the training in the months before it, I will be thinking of them. I will be running in their memory, and with the hope that the money raised can help improve understanding, diagnosis and treatment for lung disease.
Any donation you can make to this cause would be hugely appreciated. Thank you for your support.
