I’m running the London Marathon 2027 to fight for lung health!
Thank you so much for visiting my page. In April 2027, I will be taking on the mammoth challenge of the London Marathon.
If my Uncle Justin were here, he would undoubtedly tell me I’m being "bloody stupid." But I am taking on these 26.2 miles to honour his memory, to celebrate his resilience, and to raise vital funds for Asthma + Lung UK.
Justin’s Story
In 2022, we sadly lost Justin after a long and incredibly difficult battle with silicosis, a severe lung disease. For many years, Justin worked in sandblasting, a job he did without the adequate health and safety equipment that should have protected him.
The long-term exposure to toxic silica dust devastated his lungs. Over the years, our family watched him navigate the terrifying ordeal of his lungs collapsing numerous times. Eventually, he was forced to stop working and became dependent on an oxygen tank. He was placed on the lung transplant waiting list, but tragically passed away before a donor became available. For a man who had always loved travelling and being surrounded by his family, being left unable to take more than a handful of steps without struggling for breath was heartbreaking.
Yet, throughout it all, Justin faced his illness with incredible strength.
Why Workplace Safety Matters
In my daily life, I work as a Senior People Business Partner within the healthcare sector. Given my line of work, ensuring that people have safe, proper, and supportive environments where they work is something I am incredibly passionate about.
Nobody should ever have to go to work and pay for it with their health, their breath, or their life.
I am running not just to support those currently living with lung conditions, but to raise awareness about workplace health and safety. We need stricter adherence to regulations, better protection for workers in hazardous trades, and robust safety measures so that what happened to Justin doesn’t happen to anyone else.
How Your Donation Helps
Asthma + Lung UK is the only UK charity fighting for everyone has a right to breathe. They fund ground-breaking research, campaign for cleaner air and safer environments, and provide a lifeline of support for the millions of people in the UK fighting lung disease.
Every single pound you donate will keep me putting one foot in front of the other through the grueling training months ahead and across that finish line in London.
Please donate whatever you can to help change the future of lung health. Let's do this for Justin, and for every worker who deserves to come home safe.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support.

Good luck! Smash it as hard as the telephone poles in Southburgh
