London marathon 2027 in memory of my mum!
Thursday 21st May After losing my mum in December 2025 after a long battle with Stage 4 COPD, I wanted to do something in her memory.So I’ll be running the 2027 London Marathon to raise money for Asthma & Lung UK charity that supports people and families affected by devastating lung diseases like COPD.
My mum was the heart of our family — kind, strong, loving, and always putting everyone else before herself. No matter how hard things became, she kept going with incredible courage and strength. Even during her illness, she still worried more about everyone around her than she did herself.
Watching her battle COPD was heartbreaking. Seeing someone you love struggle for every breath is something that stays with you forever. COPD took so much from her over time, but it never took away the amazing person she was.
She meant everything to me, and not a day goes by where I don’t think about her or miss her.
Running the marathon will be one of the toughest things I’ve ever done, but it’s nothing compared to the fight she faced every single day. Every mile I run will be for her memory, for her strength, and for all the families affected by asthma lung diseases.
