I’m running the London Marathon 2027 to fight for lung health!
Having lived with asthma since the age of two, this cause is incredibly personal to me. As a child I experienced first hand the fear, limitation, and unpredictability that comes with a respiratory condition. The frustration of having to sit out during athletic events when my asthma was at its worst, while longing to exercise and compete. Simple things that other children took for granted, such as running, playing sports, or even cold weather and adjusting to the change of seasons often came with anxiety and limitations.
Asthma shaped a huge part of my childhood. I became very aware of my breathing, my environment, and my physical limits. There were so many moments where I felt frustrated or held back, particularly when I wanted to be active but had to be cautious. However, these experiences also built resilience and determination and shaped my understanding of the condition and the importance of effective support, education, and care.
Over time, rather than avoiding physical challenges, I became motivated to push beyond what I once thought was possible. I developed a strong passion for endurance sport and gradually built my fitness and confidence. I have worked to overcome both the physical and psychological barriers associated with asthma.
The London Marathon has always been my ultimate goal, and I would be incredibly proud to run it in support of Asthma + Lung UK. I want to use this opportunity not only to raise money, but to inspire others living with asthma and lung conditions by showing that with the right support and determination, it is still possible to achieve ambitious goals.
Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. I want to make a difference. I'm running the London Marathon 2027 for Asthma + Lung UK, the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe. Every pound I'm able to raise will take us a step closer to a world where everyone has healthy lungs.
Just £24 can support a researcher at the start of their career to carry out an hour of lung health research to ensure we attract and keep the best scientific minds to focus on lung disease.
Any support would be amazing in my fight for lung health!
