I’m running the London Marathon 2027 for Asthma + Lung UK, in honour of my nan and grandad ❤️!
I am running the 2027 London Marathon in support of Asthma + Lung UK, a charity that has become close to my heart.
In April 2024, I lost my grandad to COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease). Watching him struggle with lung disease was so incredibly difficult, and losing him has had a lasting impact on me and my family.
Sadly, my nan now lives with the same condition. Watching her face this disease has made me even more determined to support the crucial work being done to help people living with lung disease.
Every minute, someone in the UK is diagnosed with a lung condition. Every pound I’m able to raise will help drive research into better treatments, provide essential support services and raise awareness of disease such as COPD.
Running 26.2 miles will be a tough challenge and will take a lot of commitment. One of my grandad’s favourite phrases was “it’s only money”. It is his mindset I will carry for this marathon - because compared to what people living with lung conditions face everyday, “it’s only 26.2 miles”.
