I’m running the London Marathon 2027 to fight for lung health!

In 2027, I’ll be taking on the marathon again—13 years after completing my first one. I honestly thought once was enough… but here we are!

This marathon is about so much more than 26.2 miles.

I’m running because this cause is incredibly close to my heart. Both of my children, Darcey and Joseph, live with asthma and have faced some frightening health challenges because of it. My mum and I have also lived with asthma, so as a family we know just how serious lung disease can be and the impact it can have on everyday life.

Watching this year’s marathon with the kids and seeing how excited they were inspired me to sign up. They face their challenges with courage every single day, so the least I can do is tackle a few months of training, aching legs and the occasional blister!

After the year we’ve had as a family, this challenge is about me too. It gives me something positive to focus on, a reason to look after myself both physically and mentally, and something exciting to work towards. Every run is a reminder that even after difficult times, there is always a new goal to chase.

I’m aiming to raise £2,500 for this amazing charity to help fund vital research, support families affected by lung disease, and improve the lives of people living with respiratory conditions.
